Two years in the design and testing, The Shock Top® headgear has taken a huge leap forward in player comfort, protection and heat loss ability. Players have long complained that the current products out there are uncomfortable, hot, and obstruct either vision, hearing, or both.

This product has been developed and patiented in New Zealand and is the first headgear on the market using the "Ventura effect" to provide a naturally cooling headgear and that performs.

Superior protection against cuts.
As headgear is not able (by law) to be designed to protect against concussion, the only benefit you derive from wearing it is CUT PROTECTION. This headgear is designed to give the wearer that maximum cut protection but also be comfortable to wear!
Where other headgear makers are cutting more holes in their headgear to vent the trapped heat (and therefore reducing the protection)
Designed as a headgear that covers your head but operates as your head would naturally allowing it to cool (airflow over the scalp allowing evaporation and therefore cooling).

What's the Ventura effect?
As with cycling helmets it effectively sucks the air in the front and pushes the air out through the back of the helmet. This has been achieved with a combination of extensive research, heat loss mapping, and wind tunnelling to achieve a positive flow through the headgear.

Channelling
This headgear has channelling on the inside! This allows the airflow to pass between the headgear and the head, and promotes not only cooling through evaporation but also the removal of the excess heat with positive air flow
